Bolognese Sauce

- Ingredients
- 3tbsp rice bran oil
- 3 onions (chopped)
- 3 garlic cloves (crushed or sliced)
- 1.5kg minced beef
- 6 sticks celery (sliced)
- 300g mushrooms (sliced)
- 3 x 400g tins tinned tomatoes
- 7tbsp tomato paste
- 2tsp mixed herbs
- 600ml beef stock
- Salt & black pepper
- Method
1. Sear the onion and garlic until softened. Add the mince and brown
2. Add this and the tomato paste to the slow cooker pot and stir in for 1 minute
3. Then add the celery, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes, mixed herbs and beef stock. Set to slow cook for 4-5 hours on high, until all the meat and vegetables are tender

To serve, garnish with freshly torn basil and parmesan shavings on a bed of spaghetti
