Boozy Baked Beans

- Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 450g dry haricot beans, soaked overnight
- 1 onion, chopped
- Olive oil
- 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 can of beer
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 4 tablespoons tomato puree
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Tabasco sauce, to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Method
1. Drain and rinse beans.
2. Saute onion in olive oil for 3-4 minutes.
3. Mix all the ingredients in slow cooker season with pepper.
4. Cook for 4-5 hours on high.
- Special tips & hints
Do not add salt until just before serving as it will toughen the beans.
