- Ingredients
- 2 cups dried red lentils
- 1 onion chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
- 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh ginger
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 750ml chicken or vegetable stock
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 40g butter
- 2 handfuls coriander leaves, chopped
- Method
1.Put the lentils, onion, garlic, turmeric, ginger, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cumin, ground coriander, mustard seeds, stock and 1 litre of water in the slow cooker
2.Cook on low for 4 hours or until the lentils are soft
3.Stir in the garam masala, butter and coriander leaves. Stir until the butter has melted, then serve.
